The local landscape is typical of Hardy’s Dorset—rolling hills, natural wildlife and rugged seascapes. There are some wonderful pubs and restaurants to enjoy after a day spent on the beach, walking or exploring local towns and villages of the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site. Lyme Regis, with its renowned Cobb and fishing harbour, is four miles away while the flat sands and fossils of Charmouth beach are only a few minutes’ drive. The market town of Bridport, famous for its rope and net making, has good shopping and a twice-weekly market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
