The local landscape is typical of Hardy’s Dorset—rolling hills, natural wildlife and rugged seascapes. There are some wonderful pubs and restaurants to enjoy after a day spent on the beach, walking or exploring local towns and villages of the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site. Lyme Regis, with its renowned Cobb and fishing harbour, is four miles away while the flat sands and fossils of Charmouth beach are only a few minutes’ drive. The market town of Bridport, famous for its rope and net making, has good shopping and a twice-weekly market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. With the links courses of Bridport and Lyme Regis golf clubs , sandy beaches, sea fishing expeditions, diving, River Cottage, Dorchester and Lulworth Cove all nearby, there is something for everyone! West Dorset Tourist Board will have full details and many more suggestions... |
